Saturday, February 20th 2016 – Auxilia Canada / Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter organized its 12th annual charity Volleyball tournament in Hardini Center 225 Donald St, Ottawa Canada, which has been successful for the past 12 years. This year 6 teams played against each other (Team Oneid Engineer, WHOTHEY, Team Al Arz, Team St Charbel, Team Sunshine, Team Blackburn Pharmacy, Team DMT Consultants), and the winner was Oneid Engineer who won on WHOTHEY (25-20, 25-18).

The participants’ caliber was impressive, including players from Team Canada B and University League players. Some of the Lebanese star players were: Danny Younes, Marc Younes, Georges Ibrahim, Alexandre Haddad, Georges Khoury, Amira Azzi, Charbel Saghbini, Bachir Saghbini, Emily Estephan, Angela  El Jounieh, Paul Safadi, Fadi Azzi, Dany Abou Khalil, Fadi Fares, Catherin Saliba and Cesar Mezher.

We predict a great future for the two rising stars Charbel and Bachir Saghbini.

Dany Younes commented: “This tournament shows that the Lebanese players can play on a high caliber if the chance was given to them. We thank Auxilia for this opportunity, and we want them to emphasize their humanitarian role.”

Georges Ibrahim: “I wanted to win this event for Auxilia, but second place is not so bad. I’m a big fan of the Lebanese Volleyball League. Next year I am coming to gain more experience in the Lebanese League.”

We thank Auxilia Canada /Ottawa – Gatineau Chapter and especially the president of Auxilia Canada, Mrs. Magida Hajjar Chaiban, for the amazing organized event whose mission of helping Lebanese kids is always successful.
